About

"The most disrespected person in America is the black woman.
The most unprotected person in America is the black woman.
The most neglected person in America is the black woman."

-Malcolm X

When I was a child, I recall my sensitivity being referred to as “crocodile tears.” When I became an adult, my anxiety attacks were negated because I was expected to be able to be “strong.” In my experience, Black Women and Femmes are under-protected, and are also expected to “handle it” all. Black Women Cry was created to bring awareness to mental health issues within the Black community, as well as to provide a space for Black Women and Femmes to find validation in their experiences. Representation is important, and this blog is intentionally mean’t to provide that to Black Women and Femmes of all intersections (LGBTQ, Social Economic Status, Ages, Lifestyles, etc.).

The second half of Black Women Cry is to provide a safe space for all people to explore themselves as sexual beings, which means having conversations regarding safe sex practices, new techniques, and exploring desires. Black Women Cry seeks to marry Astrology and  Sexuality to help enrich the sexual being that exist within all of us.
